LitLab.ai makes early reading way more targeted and joyful through infinite custom decodables (phonics content).

• What is decodable content?

LitLab.ai is built on evidence-based reading practices (in other words, we’re a “Science of Reading” product), and specifically designed to support decoding and automaticity. We’ve been working with researchers since Day 1.

LitLab’s products

LitLab has built two instructional material products (custom decodable generators; grab-and-go decodables) and one student practice product.

Custom decodable generators

Use AI to create, edit, and assign 2 types of decodable texts:

1. Fiction decodables (illustrated) with a specific phonics skill focus (teachers and students)
2. Non-fiction decodables for building background knowledge (teachers only)

Grab-and-go decodables

Browse through 1,000+ grab-and-go decodable stories aligned to your phonics program:

• These decodables include:
  • Comprehension questions
  • Printable activities
  • A vocabulary guide that explains precisely how this aligns to your phonics program.
• All content is downloadable in several different formats.

Student-centered decoding practice

On LitLab**,** students can read assigned stories in an accessible e-reader built specifically for developing readers. They can also create & read their own personalized stories precisely align to a skill from your phonics program.

Students can:

• Listen to stories read aloud.
• Click any unknown vocab words and hear how they’re pronounced, as well as listen to definitions.
• 🎉 COMING MAR 2025 🎉: Read aloud their stories into a microphone (which surfaces fluency data for teachers!)

Teachers see a dashboard with relevant student reading and progress data.

How do educators use LitLab?
